Gratulations (Experience: ６〜１０ years) A masterpiece for short pips

*Using the speed-attack version with rubber on one side only
It's a 7-ply blade with even thickness including the core layers, and honestly it doesn't give you much distance.
Instead, it has the nice snap that short pips need, and that feels great.
The feel is on the harder side and really resonates in your hand.
The speed-attack version has its balance a bit toward the tip, somewhere between a square-shaped and a rounded-square blade.
You can also use the head weight to drive through the ball for topspin drives.
*The spin level is nothing special, but it's more than enough
That said, the real strength of short pips is meet-hitting, blocking, and short game shots.
There's no unexpected behavior from the blade, and you can clearly switch between stopping, pushing, and flicking the ball.
I also feel the control is excellent not just side to side but for long and short placement too.
And since the blade doesn't grip the ball more than necessary, you get a nice clean knuckle effect.The qualities usually expected from an offensive blade - "flies well (bounces)," "grips the ball," and "generates spin" - are actually things that, if too strong, end up killing what makes short pips good in the first place.
It might go against the current trend, but I think there's real value in the fact that a blade designed with short-pips players in mind still exists in this day and age.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

The Aqua Blade matches well with short pips too, but as an R-type Japanese penhold blade with rubber on the reverse side, it also works well for a playing style with inverted rubber on both sides. Putting max thickness or thick on the forehand and thick to 1.8mm on the backside is the choice that makes sense for weight balance. The hitting surface is stable, the feel is clean, and it's a control-oriented blade. Compared to a single-ply Speed 15 at 10mm thickness, it flies less, but the blade has flex and holds the ball, so there's no shortage of spin. Switching to the reverse side isn't awkward either, partly thanks to the 6.8mm thickness. I use the speed-attack shape, but the square shape is also designed with more defense in mind, making this a gem of a blade with no real weaknesses.
