I compete in both regular (hard-bat style) and large ball.
In large ball, I've won or placed near the top within my prefecture, and I've also received certificates at higher-level tournaments every year for the past several years.
My style is centered close to the table, with an attacking style that also trades shots at mid-distance.
On the forehand I mainly use angle shots along with drives; on the backhand my play centers on drives transitioning into flat hits.I used to try to get more distance in large ball by using a few different firm blades meant for regular play (looking back, that was a bit of a misunderstanding), but after that I switched to the Al Dente Carbon.
It really shows what a large-ball blade should be. Because it flexes well, the ball deforms less than with my previous blades, and speed, spin, and distance have all improved a lot (before, I was hitting while completely crushing the ball flat), and I think it's a blade that lets you do everything in good balance — flat hits, drives, flicks, and so on.
In particular, my main weapon, the angle shot, matches great with the rubber and gives the best feel of any blade I've used.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I used this for about six months playing large ball. The most effective style with this blade is to get a good loop going with the forehand on balls off the table, then finish with a smash. It grips well for spin, and the smash goes in consistently, so I felt it had more attacking power on off-the-table balls than the Kosaka Extreme LB.
When I tried to touch the ball gently, the feel was kind of fuzzy and muted, but when the impact was strong, it felt like it really grabbed the ball, so I could handle off-the-table balls with confidence. In the short game, though, a lot of techniques don't use strong impact, and that fuzzy feel worked against me — my stops and pushes would sometimes go deeper or higher than I aimed, so I couldn't do them with confidence. With flicks too, it was hard to time the moment the ball pops off, so I ended up relying mostly on spin-oriented flicks. This is for regular (hard-ball) table tennis. The core of this blade is quite soft. If you press it lightly with your fingernail, it dents easily. Bouncing a ball on it gives a very soft feel. I think the Meliorate carbon is something like ZLC. I'd heard it was said to be harder than carbon, so this was a bit unexpected.
When you hit with it, thanks to the Meliorate's bounce and the softness of the core, it has both bounce and good ball-holding. That said, having started out with a Korbel, the feel was a bit rough for my taste and I didn't really like it. Also, spin is easy to generate but the max spin level is low (of course, the ball is also light). Well, since it's suited to large-ball (softball-style) play, not having a huge amount of spin might be fine, and I think it's a good blade for large-ball play.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft

If you use this racket with the 40mm ball, it's uncontrollable, lol. The ball leaves the blade incredibly fast. It's a unique racket where the ball just blasts off the moment it makes contact! I'd recommend it for people who want exhilarating rallies!
