0.5mm thickness. I used to use the Vertical 20, but felt it lacked bite, so after seeing it introduced by Mino on the "Touon Table Tennis School" YouTube channel, I bought it from WRM. The first time I hit with it I didn't feel like it had that much bite, but after using it for a week or two, once the pips softened up a bit, I discovered how great these long pips really are. Even against a long serve to my backhand, I can put heavy backspin on it from the very first ball, and I don't get pushed around even when the opponent hits hard — if anything, I can hit back with a super-heavy chop for payback. Against the opponent's super-heavy looping topspin drive too, the ball doesn't float, so I always feel secure playing my own game. On top of that, if I return a short serve to my backhand like a flick, it creates a distance that's hard for the opponent to attack, and even when I'm pulled forward and back, my pushes keep enough backspin that I don't get smashed easily. Because it's so easy to control, if I float a heavily chopped ball as bait, the opponent almost always nets it when they attack. Since it doesn't bounce much, it's also easy to block even when I'm hit at while close to the table. If you're a chopper who wants to put heavy backspin on your chops and make the opponent net the ball, while also wanting stability, I really recommend giving this rubber a try at least once.
