I've been trying every tacky tension rubber from every maker I can find, looking for a successor to the Golden Tango.
The sponge is an orange, gritty sponge similar to Rakza Z Extra Hard.
If I remember right, the Hurricane King is 160×152, so at the regular size of 157×150 this one weighs about 54g.
Pushes and stops: it grips the ball the way you'd expect from a slightly tacky rubber.
Serves have some weight to them, so I'm a bit worried about wrist-heavy serves like the YG serve.
Drives: the power is absolutely insane.
The solid, crisp feel on contact was the best part.
A pro player once wrote that with this kind of rubber you can score even from an imperfect stance — and sure enough, rather than getting wild, my speed drives just flew off the racket.
This might suit players who can judge things for themselves and produce all kinds of ball quality, or who want to hit consistently good shots, more than players looking for changes of pace or unpredictable ball movement.
As I mentioned in the title, I thought it would suit a 5-ply blade, but it doesn't make much difference with an inner-carbon blade either.
It's not a rubber that forces you to pick your blade the way tacky rubbers usually do, and it doesn't feel as hard as Hurricane, so definitely give it a try.

For serve and receive it felt like a slightly tacky rubber, while for drives it felt like a tension rubber.
I'm looking for a rubber where the serve behaves like tension but the drive has that quirky, tacky-style ball movement, so this wasn't quite what I wanted.
