The Kyoto Prefectural Gymnasium, "Shimadzu Arena Kyoto". Arena 1 (floor area 2,242 square meters, ceiling height 15 m) holds about 8,000 people with 5,016 fixed seats plus 480 retractable spectator seats, and can be set up for 3 volleyball courts, 3 tennis courts, 3 basketball courts, 1 handball court or 12 badminton courts, as well as roughly 32 table tennis tables; its lighting meets the standards required for international and national tournaments. Arena 2 (floor area 864 square meters, ceiling height 8.6 m) can be set up for 2 basketball courts, 4 badminton courts or 2 volleyball courts, as well as roughly 16 table tennis tables. There are also 10 meeting rooms and a training room. Parking for about 80 cars and 6 large buses is free. Built in 1971 and renovated in fiscal 2012 and 2013.
