Sendai City Wakabayashi Gymnasium

: Sendai City Wakabayashi Gymnasium is located in Oroshimachi-higashi, Wakabayashi Ward, Sendai. It was built in August 1981 in response to requests from local residents and other citizens, and was originally named the Workers' Gymnasium before being renamed Wakabayashi Gymnasium on April 1, 2007. In March 2023 the parking lot was paved, and the gymnasium is used as a base for various sports tournaments and club activities in Wakabayashi Ward and Miyagino Ward. The designated manager is the Sendai City Sports Promotion Foundation. Sports classes are held for adults (yoga, Pilates, fat-burning lessons and badminton) and for children (athletics, dance and futsal), with children's classes open from the first grade of elementary school. Goods are sold on site and rental items are available for a fee.

Access: From Arai Station on the Sendai Municipal Subway Tozai Line, take the city bus "via Wakabayashi Taiikukan" from bus stop No. 1 for about 10 min and get off at "Wakabayashi Taiikukan-mae"
