Aim for the very top - Shibata Junior Table Tennis Club
Rather than gathering talented children, this club is characterised by raising local beginners from scratch and producing many players who go on to national tournaments.
Because of work I can only return to Shibata about once a month, but showing my face at the practice hall is my greatest pleasure.
That is because the speed at which the children grow is astonishing.
I could watch them for hours without getting bored.
This is also an encouragement in my work.
When I retire from work, I would like to teach table tennis to the children together with Mr. Yao.
Mr. Yao will teach technique, and I will teach heart.
My dream is for Shibata to produce players who are active not only nationally but on the world stage.
This club exists to make that dream come true.
