From what I've researched, this had the heaviest average weight among all the 9mm single-ply blades out there.
When I bought it, I had the manufacturer help track one down, and I ended up with a 100g one.
Of course I couldn't use it as-is, so I sanded the cork down to 98g.My impression after hitting with it: it really flies.
It threatened to be a total handful, but with practice I managed to tame it somewhat.
After using it for a while with a few different rubbers, my conclusion is that it's not suited to super-fast rubbers - a moderately bouncy tension rubber is the better match.
I can barely win a match in open tournaments, so I probably haven't mastered it, but even so, I thought it was a fantastic blade for really experiencing what a single-ply can offer.
In particular, drives and smashes hit with a full swing are eye-opening, and the feel on contact is wonderful too.It's discontinued now, but it's a blade worthy of the name of former world champion Lu Lin.

...I'd say it's on the strong side among penhold blades. Speed is about the same as a normal blade. It doesn't generate all that much spin. As for control, the ball just flies off the blade

Origin For Japanese penhold, single-ply hinoki!

Since I'm a penhold looper, I attack aggressively, and combined with the stability of the rubber, this racket lands shots satisfyingly well.
I really do think that if you balance a bouncy racket with a softer rubber, you can rediscover just how good Japanese penhold play can be.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch
