I switched from inverted rubber to this for large-ball play. I'd been using Pachisuma II, and for a short-pips rubber it was easy to get spin on,
but since it was max thickness, it had speed but flew too much and went long, and I also had a lot of net misses — control was hard.
So I bought the Cho Gokuusu, since it's described as a tacky rubber.
It's a tacky rubber, hardness 30, with a sponge under 1mm, but it feels soft, and since the ball sits on it well, I can easily lift balls that land short under the table,
and for topspin drives, since it's large-ball, I can pull the ball in close without it pushing back, and I stopped getting overshoots even on fast contact points in the short game.
Maybe because the sponge is thin, even hitting hard doesn't send it flying too far, and I can also swing big on serves.
Pushes and stops are also easy, and I can use the chiquita by brushing it the way you would with inverted rubber.
Before, the rebound was too strong and pushing was hard, but now I feel like I can also attack different courses.
Now that the ball sits better on the rubber, I've found a rubber that's easy to control and easy to hit with, and I'm satisfied.
