Hitting forehand shots, the first thing I noticed was how strong the grip is. It's not quite tacky-level, but it grips the ball a lot more than the tension rubbers from a bit earlier.
Thanks to that strong grip, topspin-drive techniques are really easy to pull off. Looping against short pushes in particular is super easy. Even with a bit of an arm-only swing, the ball still arcs nicely and flies stably.
