  Feint Long II

  

  This is a comparison with Curl P4. Long 2 is harder than the P4, and the pips feel firmer and less prone to bending. So it has less variation than the P4, but pushes bite in well. For knuckle balls, Long 2's bite makes it easier to return, but the harder you hit and the more spin there is, the more stable the P4 gets — to the point where just blocking it makes the ball come back on its own. The variation also gets nastier and nastier. With Long 2, you need to return hard shots the way you'd return a hard shot or it won't come back, and it's more affected by spin, but the variation is also fairly predictable, which makes it easy to read. On the other hand, control is easier to get a feel for than the P4, whose pips tend to fold over on their own.

  カールＰ４との比較です。ロング２の方がＰ４より硬く、粒が倒れにくくしっかりしている感じです。よって変化はＰ４に劣りますが、ツッツキは切れます。ナックル系は切れるロング2の方が返球しやすいですが、強打になればなるほど回転が掛かればかかるほどＰ４が当てるだけでも勝手に返るぐらい安定してきます。変化もどんどんエグくなります。ロング2は強打は強打に対する返し方をしないと返りませんし、回転の影響も受けやすく、また、変化も大体こんなもんだろう、ぐらいで分かりやすいです。その代わりコントロールは勝手に粒が倒れてしまうＰ４より付きやすいです。
