If the safe, reliable short-pips rubber is the Spectol, then TSP's flagship inverted rubber would be the Rise. These days it's become a completely beginner-oriented rubber. In this era dominated by spin-focused tension rubbers, I'd recommend it as a tool for building basic technique!

A bouncy rubber. There are a lot of Moristo variants out there, but this one is a completely different rubber from something like the DF. Nittaku has a lot of confusingly similar names, haha. It's a bouncy, beginner-friendly rubber, so I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to play at a faster pace.

I've also used the Waldner, so I'm reviewing that too, and I had pretty much the same impression. Among OX rubbers, this one is easy to use — chop-style shorts and quick chops close to the table stop really well. That said, this applies to all OX rubbers really: if the ball comes in hard enough to really smack the blade, it doesn't matter how good the long pips are, you're getting knocked out lol. So since OX pips collapse easily, the level of shot you can actually handle drops, and I think using a sponge version is probably the best bet if you can!

This is another unique OX rubber. It's not quite low-tension, but it holds the ball down really well and it bites hard! For a chop-block short, the variation is just so-so, but I think this rubber has very high spin-reversal ability. The harder your opponent spins it, the nastier the ball becomes just by staying low and blocking - if you just defend with blocks, your opponent ends up missing on their own lol. Recommended for penhold long-pips players from beginner to intermediate level!

This is a rubber that makes fast-paced rallies, connecting shots from far back, and counterattacks pretty easy. You don't even need to drive the ball yourself — the rubber does the flying for you. If a beginner uses it there's a risk they won't build proper fundamentals, so I'd recommend it for intermediate players and above. Because the ball flies so easily, the absolute amount of spin stays moderate. It's quite easy to put spin on, though, so the consistency is high! Basically, with pretty much any rubber, the versions labeled "Soft" tend to be faster and more consistent than the normal type, haha.
