    A blade Niwa used to play with before.
    It's a renamed version of the "Amultart."

    As for its current name, "Garaydia":

    Garaydia

    GA = Galaxy Accelerator
    (a galaxy-class accelerating device)

    Ray = (light, ray)

    Dia (to pass through)

    Putting these three words together is supposed to give the image of
    "a ray piercing through the universe at high speed."

    It's a 3-ply blade made with hinoki using 2 sheets of ZLC, with a blade thickness of 7.1mm...

    Just hearing that makes it sound like it'll send the ball flying, but the ply construction is actually on the softer side, and the ball-holding feel isn't too bad either.

    On soft hits it doesn't bounce much, but the ball suddenly picks up speed when you hit hard.

    The trajectory is a bit flat, but that doesn't mean loop drives are hard to pull off.

    Blocks also come back fast and sharp, so you can easily counter your opponent's drive with just a small push timed to it.

    I think it pairs well with medium-hardness or firmer rubbers.

    It's a wild-horse of a blade that changes character depending on the impact, but I'd say its potential is second to none.

    This model has a thinner blade than the previous lineup.

    Compared to the earlier model, it's relatively harder to generate speed, but spin and control have definitely improved.

    It's not as strong for a single big hit, but thanks to its light weight and high stability, I think it's a perfect blade for a style that grinds out points with repeated topspin drives.

    This is one of those currently trendy blades that use hard wood on the outer plies.
    Since both the wood and the craftsmanship are purely Japanese-made, you can really feel the quality.

    The board thickness is under 6mm, and it's a flexible-type 5-ply blade, so my impression is that ball-holding isn't all that great.

    The ball travels fast and it has good kick, so I think it's an attack-focused blade, but it was a bit hard for me to handle.

    There are quite a few relatively lightweight units too, with some in the 70-gram range.

    The grip has a smooth, almost slippery texture that doesn't absorb sweat, so I'd recommend grip tape for anyone with sweaty hands or weak grip strength.
