  XTEND GP

  

  Up until now I'd only used Butterfly rubbers, so this was my first time trying a Yasaka rubber, the Extend GP.

  The rubber is soft. My first impression when I hit with it was, "this really bounces!" Compared to Butterfly rubbers, it bounces more than Rundle but less than Rozena.

  Rundle has good stability but lacked power. Extend GP, on the other hand, is a rubber that gives you power on top of stability — basically Rundle with power added.

  The trajectory felt flat and linear, like a speed-oriented rubber. If you step in and commit to the shot, you can hit a powerful drive. That said, compared to Rozena the power still falls short.

  Also, Extend GP is a rubber with some quirks. It felt a little tricky to handle. So it might not suit beginners. I'd recommend it for intermediate players. Advanced players might find the power a bit lacking.

  Still, you can get it online for around 3,000 yen, and I think that's good performance for the price. I'd recommend it to intermediate players looking for a good rubber at a lower price.

  これまでバタフライのラバーしか使っていなくて今回初めてYasakaラバー、エクステンドGPを使用してみました。

  ラバーは柔らかい。最初に打ってみた感想は、弾むな！と。バタフライで言うと、ラウンデルより弾みロゼナよりは弾まない感じ。

  ラウンデルは安定感があるものの、威力に欠けていました。しかし、エクステンドGPは安定感に加えて威力も出せるラバー。ラウンデルに威力を加えたラバー。

  弾道は直線的でスピードラバーだなと感じました。しっかりと踏み込んで打つことで、威力あるドライブを打つことが可能。ただやはり、ロゼナと比べてしまうと威力が劣ります。

  そして、エクステンドGPは癖があるラバー。少し扱いづらさがありました。ですので、初心者には向かないかも。中級者におススメ。上級者からしたら威力に物足りなさがあり。

  ただ、ネットなら3000円代で購入できますし、この値段でこの性能ならばよいかと思います。中級者で値段を安くおさえて良いラバーを探している人におススメ出来そうです。

  ROZENA

  

  Since Rozena came out, I've already bought 4 sheets (3 max thickness, 1 thick).

  I play Japanese penhold, and normally use max thickness. I tried thick once, but for single-sided penhold players, max thickness really is better.

  Rozena itself is a soft, easy-to-handle rubber. It's geared toward beginner to intermediate players. It gets decent speed and spin too. It feels like an upgraded version of Roundell.

  That said, the power is still less than Tenergy, so I can't recommend it to people who prefer Tenergy. Also, if you're switching from Roundell to Rozena, I think you'll overshoot a lot at first (that's what happened to me).

  If you've been using a rubber that doesn't bounce much, keep in mind that Rozena does bounce, so you'll need to adjust well to avoid overshooting.

  As for downsides, Rozena doesn't last long. Mine didn't even make it 3 months... (practicing 2-3 times a week). Also, in the short game the ball tends to float up more easily.

  Overall, I feel like I want to keep using Rozena. The stability and the powerful shots it lets you hit are appealing, and above all, it's easy to handle!

  Luckily, since I play single-sided penhold, it's easier on my wallet than it would be for shakehand players...

  ロゼナ発売後、既に4枚購入しています。（特厚×3、厚×1）

  自分は日ペンで、普段は特厚を使っています。試しに厚を1度使ってみましたが、やはり片面ペンの人は特厚の方がよいですね。

  ロゼナ自体は柔らかく、扱いやすいラバー。初心者～中級者向けです。スピードも出るし、回転もかかります。ラウンデルの上位版といった感じ。

  ただし、テナジーよりはやはり威力が劣りますので、テナジーを好んでいる人にはおススメできません。また、ラウンデルからロゼナに変える場合、最初の内はオーバーミスが多発するかと思います。（自分がそうでした）

  今まであまり弾まないラバーを使っていた人はロゼナは弾むラバーですので、オーバーミスをしないように上手く調整が必要。

  ロゼナの欠点としては、寿命が短い点。3ヵ月は持ちませんでした・・・。（週2～3の練習量）そして、台上処理では球が浮きやすくなってしまう点。

  総合的に考えて、自分はロゼナを使い続けたいと感じています。やはり、安定感と威力ある球が打てるのは魅力的ですし、何より扱いやすい！

  幸い、自分の場合は片面ペンですので、シェイクの人よりは金銭的に助かる・・・。
