As a chopper, I think this blade is more than satisfying. A lot of choppers worry that their blade doesn't bounce enough when attacking, but I never really had that concern with this one. At first glance it looks like it won't bounce much, but depending on your rubber choice you can get decent bounce - not as much as an attacking blade, but still there. So I'd recommend it if you want a bit more bounce when attacking. If you want to go all-out on offense, the Offensive version is probably better. The Normal version is good for a chopper type who wants stability plus attack.

This is the blade I use as my main one. My impression is that most attacking blades tend to have a lot of bounce and speed, but this blade feels more moderate in that regard. I'd recommend it to beginners who want to get better at topspin drives but are looking for a blade that doesn't fly off the table too much. I also think it could work well for choppers. As for the bounce, it felt less lively than the Korbel, so I'd like attack-oriented choppers to give it a try too.

Comparing this to the normal Desperado.
Personally, I prefer this Desperado over the original. Spin amount doesn't change that much, but if you're aiming for chops with more variation, I'd recommend the Desperado 2. The normal version does have some variation too, but I think it's better suited to a more stable style of play. This is the blade I use. Some players think it's too bouncy, but personally I think this level of bounce makes it easy to play the kind of aggressive game a player trying to get stronger needs. Of course some choppers prefer a blade with less bounce, while others lean more toward attacking, so I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to grind it out but also wants some attacking power. I use inverted rubber on one side and pips on the other, and it performs plenty well even with inverted pips. On top of that, it feels a bit bouncy for a chopper, so I think thick rubber is the way to go. It's also easy to both chop and attack with, so depending on how you choose your rubber, I think it's a good option for confusing opponents with variation, or for building up attacking power that can hold its own in topspin rallies.

My impression of using these pips was that if Glass D-Tecs is for attacking choppers, then the Desperado is more for variation-style choppers. I've never used the Glass D, but the great thing about the Desperado is that the more stable your chop gets, the crazier the spin becomes. The chopped ball comes out a bit slow, so I wonder if the fact that it's slow yet spinny makes it more likely to confuse the opponent.
If you mix in knuckle balls with that slow, spinny chop, I think it would confuse your opponent.
I'd like people who want to win with variation from pips, or people who felt the Glass wasn't quite right for them, to give this a try.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
