  I bought this about 15-plus years after buying some random Japanese-style penhold racket (a pre-rubbered one) back in junior high. Since this was the first time I was building a racket completely from scratch, I asked a table tennis specialty shop to put it together for me, keeping the cost down while going for something I could use normally.
  It has good grip on the ball, and especially on backhand drives, maybe because of how it matched with the rubber, the ball lifted more than I expected. I found drives easier to pull off than smashes. Back in junior high I was bad at backhand strokes, but with this one I could somehow manage to hit them.
  I think the performance is more than enough for someone who's essentially a beginner.

  中学の時に適当な日ペン(ラバー張りラケット)を買って以来、約15年以上ぶりに購入。初めて一から組むので、費用を抑えて普通に使えるものをとのオーダーにより卓球専門店にて組んで頂いたラケット。
  球持ちがよく、特に裏面ドライブではラバーとの相性なのか必要以上に持ち上がりました。スマッシュよりも自分はドライブがやり易かったです。中学の時は裏面打法が苦手でしたが、これなら何となく打つことができました。
  ほぼ初心者には十分な性能だと思います。

  The reverse-side rubber on the first racket I ever built from scratch.
  Pretty soft. Blocking the opponent's hard hits is easy. Since it's soft, hitting it harder gives you a better ball. For reverse-side drives, it held onto the ball a bit too much for my liking and was hard to use.
  I think it's very easy to use for a defensive style.

  初めて一から組んだラケットの裏面ラバー。
  かなり柔らかい。相手の強打に対するブロックはやり易いです。柔らかいので強く弾いた方がいい球が出ます。裏面ドライブでは少し自分にとっては球を持ちすぎて使い辛かったです。
  守備的な使い方ではとても使いやすいと思います。

  RIGAN SPIN

  

  This is the forehand rubber on the first racket I ever built from scratch.
  As someone who's basically a beginner, I was surprised by how much spin it gets and how well it flicks the ball. I don't really know the going rate for rubbers, but looking at other options, I was surprised how cheap this is for the performance you get. It's more than enough for your first sheet.

  初めて一から組んだラケットに貼っているフォア面ラバー。
  ほぼ初心者からしたら回転かかるし、弾くし、驚きました。値段も相場が分かりませんが、他のラバーとか見てたら性能の割に安いことに驚きます。初めての一枚には十分な性能です。
