Uraura Ura Blockman (Experience: 6〜10 years) A unique racket with a one-of-a-kind ply construction

      Player reviews

I'd been curious about this because of its really unique ply construction, but there were so few reviews that I bought it myself to find out.
It has 9 plies total, but my racket still came in at around 84g.
True to being labeled 'all-round,' it definitely doesn't have much speed. Even if you swing hard, the ball tends to hold on the blade too long.
That said, it's not accurate to call it 'doesn't fly' either. If you focus on spin, the ball travels slowly but goes deep.
With three plies of special material packed in, light shots feel harder than the manufacturer's spec would suggest. The surface also seems to have some kind of coating - mine was a fish-scale finish, so...
But strangely, when you hit it hard, you get a sense that it's absorbing the shot. The feel changes depending on how you hit it - overall I'd call it medium hardness on average.
It's aimed at choppers who also attack with their forehand, and that's exactly the feel that suits that kind of use best.
It doesn't bounce too much, but for a beginner, the flex and ball-holding feel a bit weak.
Thanks to the special material, it holds up against the opponent's shots during counter-attacks. This is the first time I've heard of a material called 'Aratox,' but going by the name it sounds like it might be some kind of aramid?
