      I switched to this when I started playing as a defensive player. Compared to carbon, the speed is definitely slower, but with a five-ply wood blade, the ball stays on the racket better, allowing for all-around play. Personally, it doesn't suit me, but I thought it was good to put a slightly tacky rubber on it, as it made it easier to hit drives from the back of the court and to vary the speed of my shots.
