Uraura pen Nikki at Feels fine on both sides

I'm using this with rubber on the back side. Don't take the numbers too seriously—I wasn't sure what the baseline should be, so I just guessed.
Before this I was using a Yasaka Musashi with rubber on both sides, but it was heavy and thick, so I switched to this one.
Since it's 7.5mm thick, that distinctive "crack" speed you get from a single-ply blade is toned down a bit, but I still think it has plenty of power. Spin is easier to put on the ball now—probably because the blade is thinner and flexes more. This series is supposed to have a wider sweet spot thanks to the wood fiber, but I don't really feel that. If you catch the ball off-center you definitely get a dead shot (lol). Guess that just means I need more practice.
I'd recommend this for anyone who wants a slightly calmer, less explosive version of a 9mm single-ply blade.

Masamune (Experience: ６〜１０ years) Wide sweet spot

The feel on contact is soft, and even though it's a plywood blade, it has wood-derived material mixed in.
It's good for people who find single-ply hinoki blades hard to use and want to start with a plywood blade instead.
A wide range of rubbers should work well with it, so it's fun to experiment with.

Oh yeah Union (Experience: ６〜１０ years) Recommended for penhold drivers!!

I switched to this plywood blade because of the recent price hikes and quality decline in single-ply hinoki blades.
My first impression was that it felt a bit hard, maybe. But it's thinner than a 9mm single-ply and was easier to control.
The weight is 81g, heavier than the average 78g. Even with a thick tension rubber like Evolution EL mounted, it comes to 121g, and the short game is still fairly manageable.
Since it's a light blade, smashes and pushes snap in satisfyingly. That said, if you're not careful, blocks tend to get pushed back.
Thanks to the wood-derived special material widening the sweet spot, attacking shots stay stable, even though the feel is similar to a single-ply.
Since you can hit both close to and away from the table with this blade, I think you can get stable play out of it with a reasonably all-round rubber.
The price is also reasonable, so if you don't mind the weight or can't afford a hinoki single-ply, definitely give this one a try.
