Softer pimples give more spin but are often not fast enough.
This has been overcome via High Tension technology, which adds enormous tension within the rubber's molecular structure.
Raystorm provides great control & great spin, while the High Tension adds that speed you've missed.
- Short pimples
Players use Raystorm
- Top-class spin among inverted rubbers, easy to cut and loop drive with
- Feels like backspin rubber with easy handling for beginners
- Excellent control properties suitable for fine play and defense
- Difficult to produce knuckle and speed shots, limited attacking power

Gutcheon s Doesn't feel like short pips

It doesn't slip at all.
You get more spin than you'd expect from a short pips rubber.
And on top of that, angle shots and knuckle shorts are excellent too.All Speed Spin Control

If you're comparing pure amount of spin, rubbers like Booster SA or Impartial XS might be ahead,
but with restrained bounce for a tension rubber, a good amount of grip on the ball, and grip strength that doesn't let the ball slip,
the "hold time" on the ball is exceptionally long even among short pips rubbers,
so you can really feel like you're "putting real spin on it."
It's "easy to spin" to the point where it feels almost as close as inverted rubber. On the other hand, don't expect much natural knuckle effect just from hitting it.
You need to add a bit of your own technique, like sliding or flicking the ball yourself. Of course, since it's short pips, that's not too difficult. It's a little lacking if you want to attack hard and aggressively, but in exchange it's outstandingly easy to control,
so it works well even with special-material blades that don't usually pair well with short pips. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Short pips on my penhold forehand.
My trusty partner. When I hit angle shots or blocks, it comes out as a knuckle ball. When I really put spin on it, it grips a lot. Truly my partner. That said, the bounce is a bit on the low side (which actually makes blocking easier). I also do topspin rallies with it, and when I do, it grips for spin and flies properly. Personally, I think it suits the forehand better than the backhand. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Of all the short pips rubbers I've used, the spin on this one is top class. And on top of that, it's easy to hit flat, meeting shots too.
If there's any downside, it's just that I wish it were a little cheaper. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

This is my first short pips rubber, and I've got it on my forehand. It does generate spin, but maybe because it's a tension rubber and a bit on the hard side, the ball often gets knocked off and sails long (I think that's more my own technique issue). On the other hand, once you get used to it, it becomes a real weapon — you can hit fast topspin drives with a low, piercing trajectory. Short blocks and pushes also produce fast balls. You can attack and score points on your own, or you can use your own shot-making to draw out your opponent's mistakes and score that way. I think it's that kind of rubber.

The spin is fantastic!
Serves, topspin drives, and pushes are really easy to put good spin on!That said, it's a short pips rubber that doesn't have much speed off the bounce or knuckle effect. The bounce isn't all that much either.

I think this is probably the highest-spinning short pips rubber out there.
Since it doesn't bounce much, control is also good, and it lets you play detailed, precise short-pips tennis.
However, since the switch to plastic balls, I feel like the bounce has gotten worse. So it might be difficult to switch to this from a speed-oriented short pips rubber. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
