NO.1 table tennis review site

It's already been 5 years since I got stuck in the equipment rabbit hole.
Every 2 or 3 practice sessions I'd swap blades because they didn't feel right, but I've finally found the one.

Using the 82g AN grip version.
Thinking "this probably won't work either," I put on some rubbers I had lying around at around 42 degrees on both forehand and backhand, and — boom! It hit me!
Maybe because the total weight is a light 170g and easy to swing through, I got speed and ball sink like never before.
When I put a soft tension rubber on an outer-fiber blade, the shot would often drop when I hit hard, but with this blade that never happens at all.
Even though it's light, it's a bit on the thick side, so there's no feeling of being pushed back when blocking, and despite being an outer-fiber blade, it doesn't have that annoying tendency to fly too far.

Even though it's light, the blade itself makes up for it with solid bounce, so I'd recommend pairing it with a high-spin rubber.
It was such a godly blade that I ended up buying a second one as a spare.

When the balls switched to the antibacterial type a year ago, spin and speed got harder to generate, so I used a certain company's Super A-whatever, but it flexed a lot and had a thin blade, so I felt the power dispersing and the arc didn't come out the way I swung.
So I went looking for a thick outer-fiber blade and came across this one.
It's power-focused, but when you really swing through, you get plenty of spin too. It works whether you meet the ball flat or brush it, so for me it's almost an all-rounder. That said, when hit with a knuckle smash, it tends to drop with my usual blocking angle, so some adjustment is needed.
Since today's antibacterial balls are strong on flat hits and knuckle balls, I hope this can help clear that hurdle.
Lastly, because it's a thick outer-fiber blade, the way the rubber sheet grips and sinks into the ball when you swing is really excellent, but honestly, if you don't have much muscle strength, it might feel a bit lacking.

This blade has tremendous power.
It's also easy to get spin on, so the ball feels like it's growling through the air.

It has a special TXL fiber composite (glass fiber and aluminum) in the outer layer, but since the material isn't too hard and the top sheet is hinoki (Japanese cypress), the feel is quite soft. Still, thanks to the 6.8mm thickness, the ball has plenty of power. The sweet spot is wide, so even mishits still go in the direction you were aiming, and there's no unpleasant ringing in your hand. "Grabbing the ball and pushing it forward" describes this blade better than any other. Rather than brushing the ball, a flatter contact-and-brush stroke brings out its performance better. It feels close to a pure wood blade, but there's no hollow "poko-poko" feeling at all. Because of the thickness, the vibration from the ball doesn't ring much in your hand, but a mild, solid feel stays with you.

The grip width is a standard size but it's on the thick side. I'd personally prefer a bit more width, but since it's thick, the fit is passable. When I measured it, it was almost identical in size to Butterfly's Freitas ALC. But the feel in the hand is completely different — the Freitas ALC is a bit more angular, while the Treiber FO is rounder.

The weight is on the heavier side, but since the balance point is closer to the handle, it doesn't feel very heavy.

Paired with Donackle, the spin is just insane!! It flies pretty straight, but you can really get spin on it!!

The ball leaves the blade quickly and it's hard to get much arc,
and it doesn't bounce much,
but it still flies well, spin catches, and it's easy to play the short game.
Depending on the rubber I think it could bounce more,
but I felt a harder rubber suits it better.
Meet-hitting and flicks are also easy to do.
With chops, if you put too much force in you can't keep the ball under control.
What worked best for me
was countering — it's easy to kill the opponent's power that way.
What was hard to do was blocking.
