Even though it's labeled "hard," it's not actually that hard.
The sponge is rated 50 degrees, but the sheet is soft, so in practice it feels more like 46-48 degrees.
Also, it's rare for a rubber at this hardness to prioritize stability first and foremost.
And it's not just stable — swing fast and you still get decent power, and with a thin graze you can get a good amount of spin too.
If you want a hard rubber that gives you proper speed and spin depending on your swing speed, but you want more stability than something like a G1, this is the rubber I'd recommend.
I think it's especially good for intermediate players.

Right now I have Roundell Hard on both sides of my Hadraw SR.
For speed: the sheet is soft and the sponge is hard, so it's very fast.
For spin: even though the sponge is hard, because the sheet is soft, I think it falls into the category of tension rubbers that grip well and produce good spin.
Control is pretty good too, the ball goes where you aim it.On top of that, short-game techniques like chiquita, flicks, and pushes are easy to do. Shots that need a lot of spin (chiquita, pushes, loop drives, etc.) also get plenty of spin. That said, pushes are prone to overshooting, so it takes some getting used to. I also feel the lifespan is short. With something like the Fastarc series it lasts more than half a year, but the sheet on the Roundell wears out before you even hit the half-year mark. Still, since the price isn't that high, I don't think it's a big problem.
I'd recommend this rubber for someone who wants to play boldly and aggressively but also wants to mix in delicate play sometimes.

Used on the forehand.
The short game like flicks is easy to handle, and it holds up fine in mid-distance topspin rallies too.
It might also match well with the blade.Added note: counters are surprisingly easy to do. As a speed-oriented tension rubber, it does put on a fair amount of spin, but the bite on serves is just okay.

This is Roundell Hard, but it didn't feel as hard as I expected. The catalog hardness says 40, but maybe because of the sheet, it had good grip on the ball. That's probably why it didn't feel hard to me. Flicking with grip over the table was easy to do. When I stepped back to mid-distance and took a full swing, the ball would really sink into the rubber and I could hit a topspin drive with good pace. But if your swing speed is slow you won't get this feeling, so if you're not confident in your swing, or if you play close to the table, I think the normal Roundell might suit you better.

It's labeled "hard" but it doesn't feel crazy hard, if anything it's on the easier side to use. When you get a solid hit in, the destructive power is outstanding, and even when you don't get a clean hit, it still has great stability. It's a rubber whose potential really depends on the player, for better or worse!

These are my impressions after trying it on a light blade, the Black Balsa 7.0.
First, forehand hitting: the ball comes out fast and low, control was really good, and it was easy to play with. Backhand hitting was the same!

There are three in the Roundell series, and I used Roundell Soft first before trying this Roundell Hard, but it's a rubber with performance high enough that it's hard to believe it's the same cheap Roundell! I'd recommend it for people using a slightly harder rubber on their backhand, or for intermediate players' forehand.
