It's basically like long pips, haha. Since it uses a really soft sponge, the ball sinks in easily, so you get very stable play, and the ball you send back is nasty to receive. You can do all sorts of things with it, attacking like short pips close to the table, or chopping from mid-distance, so I'd recommend it to all-round players!

Serves and stops just die short on the table, so you get attacked less and can easily take the initiative yourself. As a result, you get more chances to attack, making this a rubber that lets you shift to a more aggressive style of table tennis!

Back in the day, top players all used this rubber, but now it's treated like a control rubber for beginners and intermediates. The progress of technology is a scary thing. Some people might think of it as a relic of the speed-glue era, but it's still a rubber you can use to go out and win for sure!

If you really value control above everything else, this might surprisingly click with you! It's a rubber that prioritizes control over spin or speed, so I'd recommend it much more to beginner-to-intermediate players than to advanced players. Chops tend to balloon off unpredictably, so I can't recommend it for choppers.

I'd recommend this to players just starting out with long pips, but honestly, the Feint Long 2 or Feint Long 3 are about the same price and probably a better choice. This rubber has basically no quirks and is built purely for ease of use, so in that sense, I'd recommend it as a first rubber that can become your baseline for comparison going forward!
