    The Spin Tension System (STS),which was adopted by the very popular XTEND rubber series, gives 2/3 of the tension energy to spin and 1/3 to speed. XTEND SD uses the same system, but it has now been re-designed and updated to deliver even greater stability. Yasaka have reformulated the top sheet,enabling the durability to be greatly improved. The sponge has also been re-designed to incorporate the much valued qualities of easy handling and enjoyable sound.

      I used this a little before, so I want to write about it.
      The sheet feels moist and grips the ball just the right amount, and the sponge is soft — it's a rubber focused on ease of use.
      It's not a spin-oriented tension rubber, so I can't recommend it to people looking for a lot of spin.
      However, it's not very sensitive to incoming spin and makes meeting the ball and fine technique easy, so it reliably lands on the opponent's side of the table.
      For a control-focused rubber it also has decent bounce, so junior high schoolers and women players have nothing to lose by trying it once.

      I won this in a monitor campaign.
      It's too soft, so I think it's good for the backhand of players without much swing speed.
      It has a feeling of losing momentum, so I can't recommend it for intermediate players and above.
      Thanks to this rubber I became able to counter-hit, so I think it might be good for learning technique.

      If you really value control above everything else, this might surprisingly click with you! It's a rubber that prioritizes control over spin or speed, so I'd recommend it much more to beginner-to-intermediate players than to advanced players. Chops tend to balloon off unpredictably, so I can't recommend it for choppers.

      Extend itself is already an easy-to-use rubber to begin with, so I don't really see a particular advantage to the SD version. You might think Extend gets even softer and easier to use, but for the short game the ball tends to fly off, so I'd actually say it becomes harder to control.
      In longer rallies, you don't have to put in as much of your own power to make the ball fly, so your error count might go down. It's a good rubber for someone just starting out with tension rubbers who's genuinely never touched one before!

      It's soft, so even a light touch sends the ball flying, which makes it hard to really put spin on it.
      The feel is good and control is decent too, so you can enjoy nice rallies.
