The new STIGA Mantra is developed with the latest Japanese rubber technology and offers the perfect balance of synthetic and natural rubber. This new rubber mixture creates a tension between the surface and the sponge resulting in an incredible catapult effect. Microscopic air bubbles in the sponge (Oxygen Capsule System) provide great speed with a stable and consistent hit and touch. This rubber is perfect for players who require the highest in rubber quality and performance. Mantra is suitable for all types of players, with sponge variation ranging from soft to hard.

    - The soft sponge creates a high spin rubber with excellent feel
    - Perfect soft sponge sound
    - Tremendous feeling from long distance
    - Exceptional control in serve and returns

Overwhelmingly praised as offering Tenacious-level performance at a fraction of the price. Particularly valued for stable counter-hitting and blocking on the backhand, though some suggest it may fall short for drive-oriented players.

I'm using this on the backhand of my Harimoto ALC.
It feels like a Tenergy with more control but less spin and speed.
The feel is quite similar to Tenergy actually.
I'd heard it was a speed-oriented rubber, but it generates plenty of spin too.
Serves are easy to put cut on as well.
I think the lifespan is a bit longer than average, though it seems to vary - some units wear out faster.
I also tried the Mantra M, but at my skill level, the Mantra S suited my backhand better. It's too soft for the forehand though, so I'd recommend the Mantra M there instead.

It doesn't matter if you can't win the match (Experience: 4〜5 years) It's got speed

      Reviews by user

It's pretty fast. Spin didn't impress me as much.
A bit tricky to handle, so I wouldn't really recommend it for topspin drive players. It's cheap though, so if you're more of a hitter, it might be worth trying once.

Carepa (Experience: 2〜3 years) [Cheap] An affordable Tenergy

      Reviews by user

It felt like an affordable Tenergy for anyone who can't afford Tenergy and thinks it's too expensive!
Flat hits go in easily, and the "S" in Mantra S stands for "Soft" — it's soft, the power is just okay, but the spin it puts on the ball is amazing, which was great. I think it's better suited to the backhand!

Adhesive (Experience: 2〜3 years) Rubber for the backhand

      Reviews by user

I did a test hit with this. It's more suited to the backhand. I think it's too soft to use on the forehand.
Flat hitting is easy to do with it.

      mushroom (Experience: 2〜3 years) Cheap

      Reviews by user

It's cheap for the performance you get.
In terms of control, it's actually better than Tenergy.
      I'd recommend it for beginners.

Above all, it's stable for flat hits and blocks. Personally, I'm kind of hooked on that high, metallic-sounding click? you get on flat hits.
Techniques for adding your own spin felt a bit awkward with this rubber. But I think being hard to put spin on also comes with the benefit of being less affected by the opponent's spin.

Tenari (Experience: 2〜3 years) Best value for money

      Reviews by user

The defining feature of this rubber is punchy shots like blocks and flat hits. The ball comes off very stable and fast. Blocks are barely affected by incoming spin, so they're stable and easy to place around the table. Topspin drives are also easy to do, though the spin is about average. I think it pairs well with a blade whose top ply is hard and has a lively bounce. I'd recommend it for a beginner's backhand, or for the backhand of a player whose main weapon is the forehand.
