I sometimes see people using this with penhold pips, and it's easy to use for chopping too. Chops and pushes are a given, but even a snap block close to the table goes in as long as you make contact.
The raw amount of variation isn't as high as with tension pips, but it's easy to add your own variation to the ball. You can also attack with it if you get the angle right, so I think it's worth trying at least once.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
