In a word, this is a strange kind of rubber. It's pretty easy to get spin on, and when you flick it on the backhand the ball is fast too, though the opponent seemed to have a slightly hard time reading it. It tends to naturally produce knuckle balls, so I think it's good for players close to the table who like to catch the opponent off guard with quick flat hits. It doesn't fly much so blocking is easy too, but once you move away from the table, shots feel like they barely clear the net. Overall it's very easy to use, and the ball doesn't behave erratically, so I think it's plenty usable even for someone new to short pips.
