    The new alternative for a disruptive game close to the table

    DESPERADO 2 is our latest development for a disruptive blocking game close to the table using long pimples.
    Since the new plastic ball comes with less spin it has become even more important to produce a consistent and effective blocking game against fast topspin balls that have little rotation.
    DESPERADO 2 will enable you to keep the ball low while blocking. Especially chop-blocking will give a ball that literally “dives” on the other side of the table.

    The plastic ball requires an active type of game with long pimples. DESPERADO 2 is a good match since it can be used easily for aggressive pushing and also slow counter-attacking.
    The rubber also allows for flicking over the table such as for service returning in order to put pressure on the opponent right away.

    DESPERADO 2 is highly effective for blocking close to the table and it is fun to play, try it out!

      Whether it's a drive, a push, or a smash, you can return any of them short with a stop. It's not suited for attacking, so using it on the forehand is a bit rough.

      With the switch to plastic balls, Desperado lost some speed, variation, and deceleration power, but it's back, able to show off that same performance even with plastic balls!
      If I had to nitpick, the deceleration power is down just a tiny bit, but my favorite rubber is back!
      It's pricey, but I'd recommend it to penhold pips players and choppers who value variation!

      I bought this at a certain sporting goods store. It's toned down the original Desperado's unbelievable amount of variation, just a little bit.
      I'm not sure if it's because it's designed for plastic balls, but it feels like it's gotten a little easier to attack with. The deceptive performance is still crazy high. A cut block sliced down from above on the forehand puts so much backspin on the ball that even if the opponent pushes it, it'll drop into the net. If your attack-to-defense ratio is 5:4, I'd go with the 2. If it's 4:5, I'd say go with the original.
