- The new alternative for a disruptive game close to the table

DESPERADO 2 is our latest development for a disruptive blocking game close to the table using long pimples.
Since the new plastic ball comes with less spin it has become even more important to produce a consistent and effective blocking game against fast topspin balls that have little rotation.
DESPERADO 2 will enable you to keep the ball low while blocking. Especially chop-blocking will give a ball that literally “dives” on the other side of the table.The plastic ball requires an active type of game with long pimples. DESPERADO 2 is a good match since it can be used easily for aggressive pushing and also slow counter-attacking.
The rubber also allows for flicking over the table such as for service returning in order to put pressure on the opponent right away.DESPERADO 2 is highly effective for blocking close to the table and it is fun to play, try it out!

This is a rubber with a good balance of offense and defense.
Since it has low bounce, even a plain contact block won't sail long and will land in the opponent's court, but it automatically turns into a knuckle ball. That said, drop blocks (cut blocks) on both forehand and backhand really bite. Even a return that floated up a bit high sometimes caught in the net when pushed.
Attacking techniques like pushes and angle shots are easy to pull off, but this rubber doesn't produce shots that are extremely hard to handle, so aim to break the opponent down with a series of hits rather than trying to put the ball away in one shot. The pips grip the ball fairly well, so even if you drop your contact point a bit when hitting, the ball still lands in the opponent's court.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

This stops the ball incredibly well. Surprisingly well. It blocks even heavily spun loop drives without any trouble. I don't think there's another rubber out there where blocking is this easy.

Comparing this to the normal Desperado.
Personally, I prefer this Desperado over the original. Spin amount doesn't change that much, but if you're aiming for chops with more variation, I'd recommend the Desperado 2. The normal version does have some variation too, but I think it's better suited to a more stable style of play. I'm a penhold pips player at about the level of the prefectural second round. I used to use the Desperado 1, but I switched to the 2 wanting more variation.
The first time I blocked a friend's topspin drive with it, the ball flew up and I got blown away immediately. Just as I was thinking "yeah, soft pips just don't cut it at the high school level..." I found that on the forehand I could actually hit nasty counter-drives off my opponent's topspin drives! Also, if instead of just blocking or chopping I pushed through the ball to match its speed, it would go in low and aggressively at my target spot!
This rubber really transforms in the hands of a beginner or an experienced player with an all-out attacking style. I wouldn't recommend it to someone focused on defense who wants heavy chops.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Switched over from the Curl P1-R.
With the Curl, you get spin on the ball automatically just by touching it, but
with this rubber, it's easy to control whether you add spin or not.
I think anyone used to long pips can handle it without trouble, but for first-timers I'd recommend something like the Curl P1-R instead.
Its strength is being able to quickly return short balls with heavy spin as knuckleballs.
It's on the pricier side and durability isn't great either (mine chipped just two days after I bought it),

This rubber is just plain weird (in a good way).
Blocks go in short and low, when you chop it really rips, and you can send back total knuckleballs.
It's fun to use, but it's ranked #1 on my list of rubbers I hate facing.

Blocking is really easy with this.
Pushing is also really easy
Put it on a Gouriki blade and you can do anything, it's amazing!
Maybe the Gouriki is just too good lol
Even so, this rubber is really easy to use!
