    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
This lightweight and affordable soft tension rubber is praised for its excellence in counter-hit techniques and blocking with good control, while its limited spin performance and difficulty with loop drives are noted. It is recognized as a suitable option for beginners and players seeking weight reduction.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Lightweight design ideal for weight adjustment
    • Excellent feel for counter-hit techniques and blocking
    • Modest spin performance falls short of expectations
    • Cost performance is average
    • Well-suited for beginners, women, and children
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveLightweight with good balance between spin and bounce, offering excellent control. The feel for counter-hit techniques is good, and blocking is easy to perform.
▽ CriticalGrip strength has decreased compared to Mantra S, making it difficult to lift against backspin and often losing to spin. Spin generation cannot be expected from this rubber.

Gento (10 years blank) (Experience: 6〜10 years) Just plain light

      Reviews by user

Medium-thick, used on the backside of a penhold blade.
      Pros
      - Super light - only 35g after cutting
      - Good balance of spin and bounce, so control is good
      - Nice feel for meaty shots, easy to do things like blocking
      Cons
      - The topsheet is soft, so grazing topspin drives are hard (at least at my level)
      - The ball flies off on its own, so the short game, especially the stop, might be tricky (haven't really tested this)
      - Spin is nothing special, about on par with a normal speed-oriented tension rubber
      - Bounce might not be that impressive either compared to speed rubbers like Bryce Speed
      - It's cheap and not bad value at all, but since the same brand has the Mantra at top-tier value and other brands have low-cost quality rubbers like Hexer and GTT, it's hard to make it your first choice

I switched to this rubber in a hurry because of weight issues this time, and since I only really block, chiquita, and drive on my backhand, it turned out to be way better than I expected. I haven't tried push or stop with it, but I think it could be a good first rubber for women or kids without much power.
Also, for someone like me who struggles with the total weight of a penhold looper with rubber on both sides, it could work as a stopgap fix.

celebrate (Experience: 6〜10 years) For backhand practice

      Reviews by user

I bought this to put on the backside of my penhold blade. I'd gotten tired of Rozena, couldn't handle the Hammond Z2, and ended up here. Since I was switching over from the Hammond Z2, at first it felt like it lacked speed, but in the end, the modest speed and decent amount of spin turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. A weak swing results in net misses, but even swinging hard doesn't send the ball flying off the table, so I think you can build a solid swing feel with this. That said, I feel like it doesn't last very long. I'd recommend it for solidifying your swing in a short period of time.

Pen meat (Experience: 6〜10 years) A downgraded Mantra S

      Reviews by user

Used at max thickness on the backside of an Aqua Blade 23.
I picked this up because it's a lightweight, cheap soft-tension rubber.
Since the same brand's Mantra S was so good, I feel a bit let down.
It's lost the high grip that the Mantra had - I often had trouble lifting the ball against backspin and lost the spin battle.
Against topspin too, it's better to attack with a flat hit than a drive. Don't expect much in terms of spin.
For meaty techniques like blocking and smashing, it's not affected much by spin and gives you a fast-feeling ball.
As for bounce, it's actually quite a lot for a rubber in this price range - not that different from the Mantra.
What surprisingly worked well was push and stop. Since it's soft and not suited to grazing shots, I thought it would be bad, but even though the spin amount is low, it seemed to naturally produce low, sharp balls.
Since you can get the Mantra S for just a few hundred yen more, I'm not sure what this rubber's real niche is...
It might suit someone who previously used a low-grip rubber like Hammond.

Beard (Experience: 4〜5 years) I like trying new things...

      Reviews by user

The rubber grips the ball well, and it felt like the sponge just launches it on its own.
This might not suit players who like to sink the ball in and then hit.
Since the sponge does the launching for you, maybe it's a good fit for kids or women!?
