STIGA Vertical are our latest long pimple rubbers, developed in close collaboration with former Japanese National Team player Masato Shino. The pimple structure for Vertical 20 and Vertical 55 is placed in a vertical angle providing extra control and stability in your defensive strokes. These rubbers are made in Japan and developed specially for the ABS-ball to increase the spin of the modern defensive game.

    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
Highly evaluated for excellent stability and control performance as a tacky rubber for cutmen. Especially recommended for ultra-thin usage, with soft sponge and vertical grain praised for ease of handling. However, some point out that grain variation is limited and spin is inferior to competing products.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Exceptional stability in cuts and pushes with low ball trajectory
    • Soft sponge excels in operability and ball suppression
    • Suitable for both beginners and advanced players
    • Limited grain variation requiring self-generated ball changes
    • Effective against floating pushes with plastic balls
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveProduces intended trajectories with excellent low ball control and sharp cutting against hard drives. Ideal rubber for cutmen wanting to master fundamentals of tacky rubber play.
▽ CriticalInferior to P1 and P4 in spin generation even with aggressive grain engagement and fast swings. Lacks variety in grain effects. Best suited for players excelling in persistent rallies rather than surprising opponents through ball variation.

      Reviews by user

The stability is just amazing — it might be a technique issue on my end, but the ball floats up a little. For chops, I was able to send back nasty balls that look like they're not spinning but actually are. At 20°, it's an incredibly soft hardness, so it's outstandingly easy to keep down. Since it's basically all good points like this, please give it a try.

The vertical pips give a sensation of really grabbing the ball, so the chop is very easy to keep down and stable. It's not quite a sharply-cutting chop, but you can return moderately-spun chops over and over like a wall. The push takes a bit of getting used to, I think, but since the sponge is soft it's stable and also easy to put spin on. That said, it's a bit tricky in situations like the short game where you can't get a full swing in. In those cases, I'd suggest tilting the racket face up and pushing through, or catching slightly to the side of the ball.
For backhand chopping, I'd really recommend this to anyone for whom stability is everything.

      Reviews by user

      I used this for chopping.
Both the chop and the push feel stable. It's easy to hold down hard shots, and the push is easy to cut too.
There wasn't that much variation in the chop.
I'd gotten used to horizontal-pip rubbers up until now, so since this one has vertical pips, techniques like the topspin drive where you brush the ball forward take some getting used to.
I thought this was a good rubber for a chopper.

You can easily play a tenacious chopping game over and over! But since it doesn't have any standout characteristics, you have to create the variation yourself!
