Tacky rubbers and pure wood blades tend to be a good match, since the good ball-holding feel of pure wood pairs well with a tacky rubber's ability to hold the ball. With this combination, though, speed can fall short, and trading blows from mid-distance is tough unless you bring a fairly strong impact. However, Shoryu 2 makes up for that lack of speed by blending tacky rubber with tension technology.
On the forehand, I was able to drive fast shots not only close to the table but from mid-distance as well. Since it's a very light rubber, topspin rallies were easy too. That said, on the backhand, my own lack of skill meant I couldn't really sink the ball into it.
This is a rubber I'd recommend both to beginners trying a tacky rubber for the first time and to intermediate players who are already somewhat used to tacky rubbers.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
