Yasaka rubber VALMO, made in Japan using the latest Japanese technology, called "JP HYBRID".
The top sheet has a large proportion of natural gum, which produces strong grip power and heavy spin.
VALMO has a maximum tension sponge which gives fast acceleration of the ball but also offers precision at high speeds with the grippy top sheet.Thanks to this highly developed technology and stable arc this advanced rubber is very easy to play with.

People call it a rubber for transitioning to tension or for beginner/intermediate players, but I think it has much more distinct character than that.
Its defining feature is a soft sheet that the ball sinks into on impact, combined with a hard, very springy sponge.
That combination gives it standout "flat-hit performance" and "speed-drive performance."It's not great for power drives or heavy topspin rallies where you need a lot of spin and distance, but because "spin grabs the moment you make contact" and "the rebound after contact is excellent," fast flat hits and hit-through drives land again and again.
You can also use it somewhat like short pips, while a small-swing loop still gets a good amount of spin.This is a rubber I'd recommend for anyone looking to work on their flat-hitting game.

When I use this on my Zeverate blade (inner-ply PB carbon), it feels slow at first, but once the rubber breaks in it becomes a really good backhand rubber. At a medium throw angle it's not that easy to block or chop against, and it's slower than Rakza 7 Soft on my forehand. It's basically an improved Mark V, so fans of the old Mark V should like this rubber. Used on a wood blade or an all-round blade, it gets slow and isn't very effective. I'd recommend it as a backhand rubber for intermediate to advanced players who like more control, paired with an OFF- to OFF blade.

Beginner kid (Experience: ４〜５ years) Strong grip on the ball!

This has the kind of very high sheet grip you'd expect from a Japanese-made rubber (the sheet feels soft while the sponge feels hard).
Speed is decent and control isn't bad either. I don't think this rubber shows its real strength unless you play in a way that takes advantage of that grip. Hitting flat tends to give you a straight, dead ball, so you really need to use topspin. For loops, brush the sheet; for speed, hit so the ball sinks into the sponge, and you'll get a fast ball. That said, it's hard, so speed drives feel tough unless you're intermediate level or above, or have some physical strength. Because the sponge is hard, smashes are easy to hit, and pushes and stops settle down easily too.
I think it's similar to TSP's Legalis Blue. People sometimes call it a step up from Mark V, but since it's hard, I wouldn't really recommend it on that basis. Ligan or Extend are easier to use, and I'd say Varmo is a high-performance rubber that's difficult unless you have intermediate-or-above skill.

Hmm... Mark V HPS is way better, honestly.
This was the first time I used a rubber over 4,500 yen, so I expected it to be a bit stronger...

I'd recommend this for beginners aiming to level up to intermediate. As long as you don't back off the table, any technique works fine with it. Compared to Factive it falls a little short, but this one has its own strength in how easy it is to put spin on. And the name sounds cool too lol

The speed isn't outstanding and the spin is just so-so. I wished I could control it a bit better.
Right now I'm using Rakza X on my forehand because I want more spin.

Hmm, Mark V-M2 was better, and it was already good enough.
It definitely bounces more than Mark V, and shots hit from a bit further back go in a little more easily, but control is hard.
