I like the design of this blade and have bought several, but most of them tend to be heavy. Even at the same weight, the thickness varies, and the feel is completely different from one to another. The thinner-than-average ones had less bounce and felt just like Nittaku's Latika, but the rest, in my opinion, really do live up to the "mid-fast" label - if anything, they're even harder to handle than the Ludeack or Fortius FT. The grip is also distinctive, so it'll be a matter of taste. It's not a grip for players who like to make full, thick contact with the ball.

The first thing I noticed was how surprisingly little grip on the ball it has. It also looks just like Bryce. I think Bryce Hi-Speed lets you put on stronger spin. Either way, this isn't a rubber I'd recommend to players who prioritize spin amount on their serves. That said, I think this rubber is worth using on the backhand, where it's a very well-balanced rubber that can do just about anything. Up through intermediate level, hardly anyone actually needs strong grip on the backhand, so this amount of grip is, if anything, easier to use. Pushes don't fly off in weird directions or anything, and compared to other soft rubbers it has fewer real weaknesses.

I think it's more than enough for a beginner's forehand, or an intermediate-and-below player's backhand. This isn't a tension rubber, but when a table tennis beginner hits with it, you get a really nice ball with speed on it. It's not the kind of rubber that flies on its own like a Plaxon 350, so I think you can actually improve properly with it. I've put this rubber on all sorts of blades, from 5-ply to carbon blends, but on a thin 7-ply like the TSP Alterno it really makes a high-pitched sound, which is fun. Still, personally I felt a slightly thicker 7-ply suited it best. That said, this is all only talking about play close to the table.

It's so easy to get spin on the ball and pop it up that it's hard to believe it really has 4 layers of special material in it. I don't think it's all that bouncy, but Niwa plays at the world level close to the table using a noticeably lighter-than-average AFC paired with a bouncy rubber, so I doubt many people would find this blade lacking for close-to-the-table play. Personally, since it's thin, I find it easier to use than a standard 7-ply all-wood blade.
If you like thin blades, you'll definitely love this one. If there's one issue, it's just that there are grip lenses on both sides.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

It was too hard for me, and I couldn't get the shots I wanted out of it. It's also heavy. At the same size it's 6 grams heavier than Ventus Spin... It might just be individual variation, but on a normal-size shakehand blade it came to 50 grams.
