    I tested combinations of T45 and GF-R glued onto a Swat and a Black Balsa 7. It was hard to compare them side by side, but Black won out thanks to how quickly you could switch to the backhand. It seemed like T48 might work on the forehand too, so as a test I put T45 on both sides, and... whoa. Control suffered and I couldn't swing full force anymore. I tried GF-R on both sides of the Swat instead, and that gave me the best control, letting me swing all out with confidence.

    My rule for picking a rubber is whether it consistently lands in the opponent's court when I swing at 80%+ of full power. Even with a soft sponge, if you can swing through it, you'll get plenty of speed and spin. It's light, so definitely go max thickness — a thin sponge lets the blade's character come through too much and makes it harder to control.

    Next I think I'll try testing T40.

    I tested this from March to September, using the same rubber on two blades I own. (Purely based on my own preference and feel)
    One clear difference: this one flies more. On light, medium, and hard meet shots alike, you feel direct feedback in your hand. (The sticky feel of the Timo doesn't suit me)

    Beyond that, maybe it's just that I'm not skilled enough, but I can't tell the difference on drives and other strokes.

    High performance for a third of the price!
    Since you can hit the ball into the table without worry on pushes and chops over the table, it lets you commit fully, which should help improve those skills as a result.

    Since your feel changes depending on location, temperature, humidity, and the day, I'd definitely recommend owning two of the same blade. It makes it easier to find what really suits you.
