I think it's great for getting started with tension rubbers. It grips the ball well and makes it easy to draw a nice arc, so it's very stable on the backhand. On the forehand you'll probably get some overhits until you're used to it. It's not especially fast, so switching over from a high-elasticity rubber shouldn't feel too strange. Looping against backspin is easy to do. The individual numbers aren't especially high, but overall performance is well-rounded and high across the board, which makes it very easy to use.

This is the first tension rubber I've used, and it's really easy to use.
It's easy to control, and even someone without much power like me can use it well. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

In a good way, this is a low-performance tension rubber. If you put a tacky rubber on your forehand, the gap between the two sides makes opponents miss.

This rubber is soft and easy to control.
The price is on the cheaper side too, so I think it's good for beginners.
I use it on my backhand, and since it's easy to control when moving the opponent side to side, I can move them around well, then finish with my forehand once the ball floats up — that's my usual pattern.
I think intermediate players can use it too, so give it a try.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Spin comes on just fine,
it's easy to control,
and since the rubber is soft, the ball sinks in and you get good speed too.
I think it's best used on the backhand. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

With high-elasticity rubbers, the grip on the ball and spin feel lacking. With tension rubbers, I worry about overhitting in matches. And if you go softer to tone down the bounce, other problems show up, like pushes floating too much. GF-R is what solved all of these issues for me at once.
First, about the rubber itself: the topsheet feels like a GFT with slightly wider pimple spacing, and it's soft. The sponge seems to be the same as GFT40. Because the sheet is lighter, the overall weight is lighter than GFT40 too.
As for grip and spin, if you hit it too thin it slides more than GFT, so it's better to let the ball sink in a bit using the softness — that gives you a solid grip and good spin. The absolute amount of spin is a bit less than GFT.
Speed is toned down and easy to control, and on hard hits it doesn't come out as fast as GFT. When I can't hit cleanly, the softness of the sheet still helps the ball land reasonably well.
Pushes and stops didn't float as much as I expected, and I could do sharp, biting pushes without any problem.
Blocking felt easy too, thanks to how controllable it is.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

It's an entry-level tension rubber, so it's easy to put spin on.
The rubber is also soft, so even a light hit sinks in nicely and generates speed.
You can still control it well during fast rallies, so it's very easy to use even under the pressure of a tournament. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
