It arrived yesterday so I tried it out in practice right away.
I haven't used it for long so this might not be very helpful, but please bear with me…I compared it to the standard defensive blades Nittaku "Resist II" and STIGA "Defensive Classic NCT" (both with the same rubber setup) and I'll list a few impressions.
- For a carbon blade, the bounce is fairly subdued (well, that makes sense since it's a defensive blade…)
I'd say it's about the same as the Classic NCT, maybe a bit more bouncy.
- Smashes are very easy to keep under control.
In terms of ease of control: Pro = Resist II > Classic NCT
- Maybe because of the soft carbon, the feel is almost the same as a wood 5-ply defensive blade.
- It transmits slightly more vibration to the hand than the Resist II.
Though this might just be because it's fresh out of the wrapper and not fully dried out yet.
- The weight is light.
- Being light, it's easy to swing through.
- This might be because of the forehand rubber, but the sound barely changes whether I chop or hit a knuckle ball.
- This might also be the rubber's doing, but when I hit a topspin drive it bounces quite a bit for a defensive blade!
Overall it's roughly Pro > Classic NCT > Resist II.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft
