First off, it's cheap. Almost too cheap.
Second, the sound is incredible. Between the price, the sound, and the attacking power, it's hard to find a rubber that beats it on all three counts. Also, this rubber is what you'd call a "manual" type, but
whether you're driving or hitting flat, the ball comes off very sharp — that's its defining trait.
Shots hit from above (especially against topspin) become extremely decisive.
And then there's that great sound, plus stability. Both drives and flat hits are hard to overshoot with. The sponge is soft, but the sheet is quite hard and strong, so
if you're someone who doesn't back off the table, I think it could work on the forehand too (though it doesn't give much distance).
Just be careful with the difference between hitting flat and putting spin on it.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

From the look of it, it's a vertical-pips rubber that leans more toward the spin-oriented side. Performance-wise, it's pretty spin-focused too.
Overall it feels like one of those "in-between" rubbers that have been increasing lately, sitting between the spin type and the speed type.Within that in-between category, it leans toward the spin side (if you really sink the ball in, it can out-spin even dedicated spin rubbers), and it's a balanced-plus-something short-pips rubber that also has strong, versatile blocking.
The sound and the feel on contact are nice too.
The speed is deliberately kept a bit restrained for a tension-type short pips, so
it seems like a good idea to make up for that or fine-tune it with your choice of blade.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

At 42.5 degrees it's on the soft side, but thanks to the fast ball release and strong tension,
it doesn't feel like it has the usual weaknesses of a soft rubber — it manages to combine ease of use with ease of spin? That's the kind of well-balanced rubber this is. The MAX+ version in particular has great balance.
The sound is nice too, spin is easy to generate, and the price is reasonable.
The control and ease of putting spin on the ball are especially impressive. It's basically suited for the backhand, but if you like really sinking the ball into the sponge,
or if you're a beginner/intermediate player or a female player, it should work well enough on the forehand too.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

It got some buzz for a while when famous coaches started using it, but it's ended up a bit overshadowed since the Super Ventus came out...
That said, it's still, without question, a good rubber.
First, it's fast and consistent at the same time.
It bounces well while keeping a stable arc, which makes it easy to string together attacks without a break. And in terms of spin, considering how easily it comes off, the spin performance is quite high too.
It's very well suited to drives that dig into a plastic ball. The sheer distance might admittedly be tough to match, but unlike the Super Ventus, the sponge's hardness never really gets in the way — it's an excellent, quirk-free rubber.

Just like Phantom, this is a long pips rubber that really transforms with the hard, heavy plastic ball.
With the celluloid ball I never really felt it cut much,
but with the plastic ball, against strong shots, both chops and blocks bite really well.
(Though it does require power from the opponent's shot and some skill of your own.)On top of that, attacking is stable, and it's fast for a long pips rubber,
and above all, its blocks are among the best of any long pips rubber for stopping the ball and staying consistent. It demands a fairly high level of skill, but it's a long pips rubber with high performance across the board.
I'd recommend the OX and max thickness versions.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Hard
