      This blade is what got me into playing as an inverted-inverted chopper.

      (1) On offense, the extension on topspin drives is just amazing! You can really feel that grabbing sensation as the ball takes off, and I think that's exactly what suits inverted rubber on both sides. The shots naturally come out heavy.

      (2) For pushes and short-game shots, I personally found it a bit awkward, maybe because the blade is thick. Part of that is switching from pips to inverted on both sides, but with pushes you need to swing top-to-bottom or lower your contact point, otherwise the ball tends to catch the edge of the blade. The blade itself also has a lot of bounce, so I think pushes are considerably harder than with other chopping blades.

      (3) As for chopping, I think anyone switching from a low-bounce blade will need time to adjust. It seems to produce shots that are a bit slower and lower. Before switching I was using the Wa no Kyoku Midori, so this felt fast in comparison. The cutting bite is sharp. Chops feel easier to cut sharply than pushes.

      If you're switching to this, my advice would be to go with thick or medium-thick rubber, and pick a lighter individual blade. I haven't used it with long pips myself, so please refer to other reviews for that.

      I used a hinoki single-ply blade over 30 years ago, and this brought it all flooding back. Above all, that distinctive "snap" of a hinoki blade sending the ball flying is genuinely fun. On offense, if you trust the blade and swing through properly, the ball comes out with great extension. Chops need a faster swing, but the return comes back low and skimming. If your opponent closes in and hits a fast topspin drive, I think it's better to ride it out with a chop-block rather than a regular chop, and counter-hitting is quite effective too.
      I used Rakza 7 on the forehand and V11 extra-thick on the backhand, but for a chopper I think V11 max-thickness on the forehand would be good.
      Just as the rumors say, this blade is a lot of fun with inverted rubber on both sides. I use it as my main blade.

      The feel of this 3-ply hinoki blade is the best. The sensation of gripping the ball is fantastic - forehand attacks fly through solidly, and chops stay firmly under control and land on the table.
      That said, no matter which long pips rubber I tried on the backhand, nothing quite felt right. But pairing it with inverted rubber gives you really sharp, cutting chops. This might be a good fit for anyone aiming to play like Hideda.
