The TSP Black Balsa 5.0 is a controlled and well-balanced ALL/OFF blade. Ideal for controlled topspin play and precise counter-attack/blocking close-to-the-table play. The 5.0 mm thick balsa core provides for a great mix of speed and control.

    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
The racket's lightweight design is its standout feature, with many praising improved swing speed and quick transitions. However, some users point out limitations in power and spin generation, with opinions varying based on playing style.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Exceptionally light (approximately 63-150g) enhancing swing speed
    • Enables fast front-court techniques, counters, and quick switches
    • Compatible with both light and heavy rubbers for versatile setups
    • Balsa wood material requires edge tape for durability
    • Power and spin performance are modest, not ideal for aggressive play
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveRecommended for players lacking power. The lightweight racket enables quick switching and fast recovery when moved side-to-side. Full swings deliver ideal performance.
▽ CriticalWhile the light weight enables fast backhand switching, power deficiency makes it vulnerable to counters. Overall spin performance is also underwhelming across the board.

It's light and easy to handle. The price is nice and cheap too, but because the blade is light, your drives end up with a lighter ball quality.

      I'm a reverse-penhold player.
I recently decided to seriously incorporate backhand strokes on the reverse side, so I bought this for the simple reason of wanting a light blade.
I think Hurricane NEO3, which I have on my forehand, is a fairly heavy rubber, but since the blade itself is quite light, I can keep up with fast-paced rallies and short-game backhands are easy too.
The blade is hard with a quick release, so putting spin on the ball might take some practice.
I'd recommend this more to players who want to take the initiative and play close to the table than to those who want to unleash powerful drives from mid-distance.
