Unsurpassed ball feeling gives a perfect blade for players that can mix technical attack near the table and topspin play short distance from the table. Also a favorite with defensive players, due to superb control.

This is a blade aimed at beginners. The feel on contact is quite soft, and the control is really outstanding. I think it might be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of feel, but I'd recommend it to people switching over from a pre-rubbered blade, or to intermediate players!

The Battle of Minoshima! For those who want to learn the reverse backhand technique

      Player reviews

For better or worse, it's a stable blade that isn't picky about rubber.

It's also not expensive, which is a strength — you can pick it up with peace of mind.

It's light in weight, so I'd recommend it to defensive/pips-out players, or to players who want stability on backhand strokes.

The material is also soft, which means it's a bit fragile, so watch out for that.

Masato Tanaka 00 For those starting reverse-side strokes

      Player reviews

It doesn't have all that much bounce.

The blade is thin and light, so you can put rubber on both sides without issue.

Also, the hitting feel is soft, so opinions on it will probably be divided.

For better or worse, I'd call it a beginner's blade.

Masamune (Experience: 6〜10 years) A lump of stability

      Player reviews

It's a control-focused blade without much bounce, but that also means it's easy to tune the feel with your rubber choice.
Backhand strokes are easy too, so I'd recommend it to penhold players wanting to move into using the backside, or to shakehand players who want extra stability.
That said, the top ply seems fairly fragile, so watch out for that.

I used the Chinese penhold version. The blade is big, so if you normally use shakehand, it feels quite different. The weight is more toward the tip, and the bounce is kept fairly moderate, so I think it's a good first Chinese penhold blade for building the basics.

      SG Outstanding hold and control!

      Player reviews

I bought this as my very first racket.
It's quite soft and easy to handle, and it really doesn't have much bounce!
But if you've just started playing table tennis, I think putting Mark V on this would be a great choice.

The material is very soft, so if you pair it with tension rubber, you can confidently go for hard hits.
