Inner Force (Experience: ４〜５ years) My first ZLC!

This was my first time using ZLC...! I'd always played with ALC, so out of curiosity about what it would feel like, I ended up buying one without thinking! Since it does have carbon in it, I put on a softer rubber, but maybe because of how soft the hit feels, even with carbon in it, it had a kind of flexy, almost floppy feel. It was a pretty different blade from what I'd imagined. As for speed, when you hit lightly it's no different from a 5-ply wood blade. Hit hard and it comes out all at once. But it feels like the ALC generates more. Spin is decent. It feels like it grips less than the ALC. It feels like it grips better if you let the ball sink in before hitting. Control was easy. I couldn't really get to like the feel of the hit, though. Since I've always used ALC, I guess this soft feel just isn't for me. It feels somewhat like a 5-ply wood blade. Short-game touches near the table and blocks were especially easy. There's no technique that's hard to do with it. It's kind of similar to the Timo Boll W5. Next time I'll try putting on a slightly harder rubber.

I only borrowed a junior teammate's and hit with it, but every shot felt stable. In particular, short-game touches near the table and blocks were easy, and it felt totally different from the Amultart. Bottom line: it's pretty close to a pure wood blade! The Innerforce ALC felt slightly harder, but the ZLC version felt like a softer, more flexible material. That said, the ZLC's extra pop only shows up if you really hit hard. It's enough to make you wonder, "does this blade even have carbon in it?!" I was impressed that Butterfly managed to keep that pure-wood feel while still fitting in ZLC, but it also left me wondering, "couldn't I just buy a regular 5-ply wood blade instead?" In the end, it comes down to being impressed that "wow, it's got ZLC in it and still generates this much spin!" — but a slightly livelier 5-ply wood blade would cover that need just fine. I personally can't justify spending 20,000 yen on a blade that's only a bit livelier than that 5-ply. The Innerforce ALC still feels like an ALC blade, but the ZLC barely differs from pure wood, so it doesn't really have much personality. I personally prefer the Amultart, since it feels more distinctly "ZLC." This is just my personal impression so I can't say for sure, but I do wish it had a bit more pop.
