It's quite soft. Because of that it's easy to control, and it also puts solid spin on the ball. On the forehand, I think it's too soft and hard to use for intermediate players and above, but I'd recommend it to beginners. On the backhand, players with a big full swing will probably find it too soft to use well, but for someone with a compact swing I think it works just fine.

I put this on my forehand. Hitting on the forehand loses some power. You can produce a loop drive by swinging upward, but a fast drive digs in too much into the sponge and doesn't get much speed.
Next, backhand hitting. I feel more power loss on the backhand. You can produce a sharp push. However, there was what's commonly called a "mystery drop" (the ball unexpectedly dies short). Everyone says it's better for the backhand, but I'd actually recommend it more for a beginner's forehand.
Good points
- Loop drives come up easily.
- Easy to put spin on serves.
- Control is quite good, so I'd recommend it as a first tension rubber for beginners.
Bad points
- Maybe because of the slight tackiness, the ball doesn't rebound much on contact, so it doesn't get much speed.
- It sinks into the sponge quite a lot. (Personally I see this as a downside, but if that sounds good to you, maybe give it a try.)

Mizuno's GT series generates plenty of spin and has excellent control.

Given how reasonable the price is, the performance is excellent.
It consistently produces good quality shots in both speed and spin, which I really liked.
The sheet is soft and grips the ball well, but it's not too soft, and I don't feel any loss of power at all.
The Q series is strictly for advanced players, but this one works for anyone.
It's a bit similar to Rakza 7 Soft,
but Rakza has a firmer sheet
with a softer sponge — the GFT40 gives the opposite impression. Because the sponge has more backbone, hitting/flicking shots are also good.Truly a good feeling, you could say.

It's fairly soft with good control, so I'd recommend it for the backhand. Speed is a bit lacking, but if you sink the ball into the sponge and brush it, you get solid spin. Above all, the control is excellent, so I think it works fine from beginner through intermediate level.
Flat hitting isn't bad either, but I think this rubber is really suited to topspin drives (sinking the ball in and hitting through it). With flat hitting, the ball tends to come out with a slightly odd trajectory.
I'd call it an all-around rubber that works with pretty much any blade. It works on the forehand too, but since it's on the soft side, I think the backhand is its natural home. It also feels fine as a beginner's rubber on both sides. Maybe because its overall performance is well-rounded rather than exceptional in any one area, it's hard to feel truly wowed by it, but there's nothing to complain about either. This was the first tension rubber I ever used, and even though I'd been exclusively on tacky rubber until then, I got used to this tension rubber right away.
