I think this is a great blade for penhold loopers. It looks expensive, so it stands out.

I bought this as my first single-ply blade. It's super hard and flies a ton. The ball comes off fast, and I think you'd need to hit the gym to handle a hard rubber on this. Switching directions is easy, and it really flies. Unless you're reasonably skilled, I think it's tough to handle a high-performance rubber on this blade. Because of that, a soft short pips rubber gives really well-balanced, stable attacking play. But if you want more of a challenge, I think a harder short pips (German hardness 45 degrees or above) would be great. It's good on the backhand too. It's a really great blade, so how about it as your first single-ply?

It's easy to switch between forehand and backhand, it doesn't bounce too much, and the feel is outstanding. Personally, I think it pairs really well with Bryce Speed.

It's easy to use with short pips on the forehand, so I ended up buying it. Topspin drives come easy too — a true all-round blade.

I don't think you really need to put rubber on the backhand side. It feels like an easy-to-use single-ply blade! If you've got good footwork, you can keep firing off devastating drives with stability!

Since it's originally a hinoki single-ply blade, I think it's a versatile racket - if you're confident in your footwork you can go single-sided, and if you want to broaden your range you can try inverted rubber on the backhand too!
