I normally play shakehand, but I tried Chinese penhold for the first time. I bought it because I was drawn to the low price and the modern grip. It has a moderate bounce and feel. Backhand strokes on the reverse side are also easy to do. I'd recommend it as a second or third blade.

Nice ball! (Experience: 6〜10 years) Can handle anything

      Player reviews

The grip is just right — thin and easy to hold — so (even though I don't use it much) the backhand side is easy to play. Performance-wise it's on the soft, low-bounce side, but for me that actually makes it easier to use with short pips. Just like the marketing says, it has enough genuine feel to bring out each rubber's own character. If you're worried about the power of your shots, I think the rubber can make up for that either way. Mine is a 76-gram blade, and with light rubber on both sides it comes to 138 grams. I don't like flared/reverse-style grips, so I deliberately went with Chinese penhold, and this weight is just right for that.

Gengar (Experience: 6〜10 years) Soft 5-ply blade

      Player reviews

      Mine was the Chinese-penhold version at 81.6g. It's a standard 5-ply all-wood blade with good ball-holding feel.
Against topspin the ball seemed to leave the blade quickly, but against backspin I felt a lot of ball-holding, and it feels like you can even adjust the depth of your loop.
It felt similar to the Korbel, which is also a 5-ply.

day pen cutman A blade that suits pips-out rubber

      Player reviews

I put short pips on my forehand and hit with it,
and it was easy to flick the ball with, pretty good.
It's cheap, so I'd recommend it
as your first or second blade.

553 Cutman (Experience: 11〜20 years) Good blade

      Player reviews

The bounce is kept in check and the stability is amazing!
      The arc is great too!
Since the grip is thin, it's easy to flip the racket and use the reverse side.
I thought it was a really great blade.

It doesn't bounce much, so it's easy to use even for beginners. The grip is thin, so it's easy to use backhand-side strokes.

I think this blade works for everyone from beginners to advanced players. Like Ma Lin, I often use a block on my backhand, and it makes backhand strokes easy too. Blocking is also easy with it.
