I used this one six years ago. It's sad that it's been discontinued.
This blade was often compared to Butterfly's Korbel. Since the Korbel flexes more, people would often say things like "Korbel over Gaia." That was kind of sad to hear.
This blade paired really well with TSP's tacky rubber T-Rex, because they bring out the best in each other.
- Gaia doesn't take spin easily, while T-Rex spins a lot
- Gaia bounces, while T-Rex, being tacky, doesn't bounce much
I've never used the Korbel so I can't say, but Gaia paired well with TSP's tacky rubber and was reasonably priced, so I liked it. It's sad that T-Rex is discontinued too.It made me realize that the compatibility between blade and rubber matters far more than the performance of either one on its own.

It's an OFF blade — full of feel, control, and definitely power. It's an honest blade that lets you play every shot. One downside: generating spin isn't the easiest, but it's great for fast, flat smashes. The hardness is medium, with a noticeable flex, but it's never sluggish. Playing mid-distance or far from the table takes a bit more strength and technique, but it's doable and effective. The ball's trajectory is low and a bit flat, which for me is one of its strengths. My blade (first and second one) weighs 82 grams.
