It pairs very poorly with smooth/matte-type glues - it's hard to get the rubber to stick.
I think this is because the top ply is hard and, on top of that, it's coated, so the surface has no friction, making it hard to bond. If you rub the surface of this blade once or twice with coarse sandpaper when it's brand new, it becomes much easier to glue.This is a Hungarian-made classic blade released more than 10 years ago. There's a rubber sheet inserted halfway between the grip material and the wood. The sibling blade that has this throughout - the Offensive Reflex System - seems to be discontinued now. That's a shame.
True to a European-made blade, it has flex and hardness, and it suits both tacky and tension rubbers. A lot of people have used it for years. It has good bounce, but even beginners can manage it. For beginners, I'd recommend a rubber that dampens the bounce a bit, since tension rubbers would make it fly too much.This is the classic blade that made TSP's name. Sorry for the long review.

I used this one six years ago. It's sad that it's been discontinued.
This blade was often compared to Butterfly's Korbel. Since the Korbel flexes more, people would often say things like "Korbel over Gaia." That was kind of sad to hear.
This blade paired really well with TSP's tacky rubber T-Rex, because they bring out the best in each other.
- Gaia doesn't take spin easily, while T-Rex spins a lot
- Gaia bounces, while T-Rex, being tacky, doesn't bounce much
I've never used the Korbel so I can't say, but Gaia paired well with TSP's tacky rubber and was reasonably priced, so I liked it. It's sad that T-Rex is discontinued too.It made me realize that the compatibility between blade and rubber matters far more than the performance of either one on its own.

This becomes a blade with very little bounce, but if you use your wrist, body weight, and muscles to flex it into the shot, you won't get much speed, but you will get a heavy ball loaded with spin.
Hitting the ball using your wrist, body weight, and muscles is essential for improving at table tennis. If you end up hitting with just your arm, the ball gets weak and your opponent will punish it.This is a training blade.
