I came back to the sport after more than 10 years away. At first I just started using the popular Innerforce Layer ALC. It really was easy to use, and every technique felt manageable.
But it never quite clicked for me, and even practicing more than twice a week, my level barely improved. Frustrated, I tried rubbers from all sorts of well-known makers — Tenergy, Fastarc, and so on — but still never felt satisfied.Around that time I happened to read someone else's review of the Liberta Synergy Plus and decided to try an outer blade. In conclusion, it was exactly right for me. People say it flies way too much or is hard to control, but in practice, yes, it does fly, but it grabs the ball firmly on drives, and both speed drives and loops let you put spin on freely while hitting heavy shots. Flat hits also come out with that good outer-blade feel. Serves land short without bouncing up too. You can hit good shots close to the table, at mid-distance, and away from the table. I feel like every technique goes up at least one level with this blade.
It needs some arm strength and skill, but this is a blade I really want drive players to try.

The destructive power is outstanding.
It feels similar to Butterfly's ZLC.
I'd say it repels the ball even better than the ZLC and really makes the ball run.I'd recommend this to intermediate-level and above male players.

I hadn't used outer-type blades much, but decided to give this one a try.
Even with my usually slow ball, I was able to hit some pretty fast shots.
I started blowing straight through opponents in one shot more often.I think it would also work well with short pips.

There was a blade at my table tennis shop that I'd had my eye on for a while, so with the shop staff there to help, I lined up five bare-wood blades, including a few other well-known ones I was curious about, and ran some ball-bounce tests.
Blades tested
Liberta Synergy Plus (Darker), Liberta Arcus (Darker), Fortius FT ver.D (Mizuno), Timo Boll ALC (Butterfly), Viscaria (Butterfly)

Liberta Synergy Plus > Timo Boll ALC ≥ Viscaria > Liberta Arcus > Fortius FT ver.DThey were all great blades, but I ended up buying the Liberta Synergy Plus since it had the best bounce, figuring I could tone down any excess speed with my rubber choice.
Apparently Darker's craftsmen only sell blades where the two wood plies have been matched for equal bounce on both sides, so they can't mass-produce them — which made me feel like this blade is built to a really trustworthy standard.

First off, the feel is really good. Even though it's an outer-build blade, you can really feel it resonate in your hand. It has more bounce than the Timo Boll ALC, and feels about the same as the Jun Mizutani blade. On top of that, short-game shots like stops are really easy to do, which left a good impression. My only regret is that I bought the straight grip, and it was a bit thick and hard to hold.

I had my older brother receive some of my drives, and he said the speed was incredible, which went straight to my head (lol). The racket I happened to be holding at the time was this one, so I decided to give it a proper try. I'd really recommend this to anyone who wants to experience that "gripping" feeling, or who wants power without giving up stability.

The grip is unique and really stands out.
