A friend had this on the backhand of their TB5α, so I got to try it out.
Since there's no sponge, it naturally doesn't bounce much, but it does give you variation, so
close to the table it's good to use variation on the backhand to create an opening, then finish it off with the forehand.
Chopping is also easy with it.
Not being affected much by your opponent's spin is another nice point.
And on top of everything, it's cheap, so the value for money is unbeatable.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

This barely flies at all... Honestly, it flies about as little as putting a highly tacky rubber on a beginner's blade. I tried using it for chopping, but it flies so little that I ended up chopping with an attacking blade instead... It's easy to control, but the ball drops into the net before it even gets there, so it's not even a question of control at that point... That said, pushes over the table are incredibly easy with it. Though they do get picked off.

It's just an OX short pips rubber, that's all, I figured...
Back when I was an active player, I honestly thought it was some relic of the past and wondered why it hadn't been discontinued yet (sorry, Butterfly), but out of curiosity, after watching some test-hit videos on YouTube, I bought one.Wow, this actually surprised me.
When you really swing through a chop, the trajectory looks like it's trailing a thread, and it settles onto the table so smoothly — it feels great.
Pushes are no problem as long as you're careful not to use only your wrist.
Since it's short pips, more of the opponent's spin carries through than with long pips, but that has its own charm too.
So while the variation isn't as strong as long pips, it does have some, and once you get used to it, you might end up liking it even more than long pips.
My impression is that what matters isn't so much "knocking the pips over" as getting that "sliding" feel.
I have a feeling this might turn into a long relationship.

This is a rubber that's been around since the 38mm ball era.
Among OX rubbers it has less variation but outstanding control.
I rated the speed a 3, but that's compared to tension rubbers — it's by no means dead.
OX rubber users value control and quick release over speed, so I think it's more than enough in that department.
I also think it's a good entry point for players aiming to become an irregular-rubber chopper who are switching to irregular rubbers for the first time.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I'm using this on the forehand side of my Haddorow JPV-S. This rubber is unusually cheap for a Butterfly product. But it still has a ton of power — the ball goes in regardless of how much spin is on it from the opponent.

For how cheap it is, it does a crazy amount to the ball.
Just put Orthodox DX on the forehand side, line up the racket face and swing through, and no matter how much backspin is on the ball it flies into the opponent's court at real speed.
It doesn't have much speed itself, but I think it suits a defensive style well.
Even though it's meant for attacking, if you get carried away and try a chop with it, it still bites in and lands.
I'd recommend it for beginner choppers.

I put it on a Japanese penhold blade just for fun.
A light push turns into a knuckle ball,
and backhand pushes are easy to do.
When I tried penhold chopping with it, the chops were stable and landed just barely over the net on the opponent's side.
It's hard to hit forehand drives with, but chopping and backhand shots are easy, so I think it suits an all-round close-to-the-table player or a short-pips chopper.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
