Comments like "It's not even a tension rubber, yet it costs this much" feel a bit off the mark to me, don't they?
The reason tension rubbers are expensive is just that R&D costs get added onto the price — it doesn't necessarily mean higher performance.If anything, is it really an honest way to do business — selling tension rubbers that are hard for the average "normal-level" player to get the most out of, that have a small margin for error and lead to more mistakes, all while creating an atmosphere of "these days you can't win without tension rubber"?
V-Stage is expensive probably for the same reason Three-Star balls are expensive — the criteria for what counts as a good product are strict, so the yield is low.
I actually think the direction this rubber is taking is a sound one.
That said, I do feel like, for a high-resilience rubber with a large margin for error and plenty of accumulated manufacturing know-how, was it really necessary to pursue a quality level that lowers yield and raises the price this much?All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

This is a rubber with no quirks.
It feels like a Mark V with a little booster applied — it's easy to handle, speed and spin aren't bad, and control isn't bad either. But the price is too high, so honestly I'd rather buy Rakza 7.If it were priced at just 500-1000 yen more than a Mark V, it'd be the best rubber out there.

Now that spin-oriented tension rubbers are the mainstream, I didn't think there was any real need to go out of your way to use this one.
And it's expensive. Not funny. Might be suited as a step up from the Mark V, though.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I used to have Mark V on a Swedish Defensive blade, and this rubber feels like Mark V with all its performance simply bumped up.
That said, since the raw numbers went up, stability and control have dropped a bit (though it's still way easier to control than a tension rubber). I'd recommend it for anyone who wants a Mark V-type rubber but feels like they can't win with plain Mark V anymore!
Small techniques are easy to pull off too, so it might work well for beginners and intermediate players as well.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

and it's really good!
Personally I find the drive
really easy to hit with,
and it's easier to use than a quirky rubber, so

It bounces really well. I've used Mark V for ages, so this rubber — basically Mark V with a performance boost — is perfect for an old guy like me.
